Just thought I would share an update on the progress of the proposed Parental Rights Amendment to the US Constitution.
As an afterthought, I only ask, "Do Parental Rights = Equal Rights?" I only bring this up due to a CA Constitutional Amendment. It was Prop. 8 defining and establishing "The Traditional Definition of Marriage" To date there has been a fight, amounting to millions spent. Major sides are Gay Marriage vs Traditional Marriage. Need I say more about "Equal Rights"?

Dear Champion of Parental Rights,
I do want to share one exciting fact: between returning cosponsors and newly-elected congressmen who have signed our pledge, we have 156 supporters of the Parental Rights Amendment going into the 112th Congress this January!
While this is a victory in itself, our work is not done. We will be working with Rep. Fortenberry and Sen. DeMint to turn these promises into reality, aiming to bring on board as many as we can prior to January 3rd’s introduction of the new resolutions. (While the Amendment language will not be changed, a new House joint resolution and a new Senate joint resolution must be introduced in each new Congress. HJR 42 and SJR 16 will expire at the end of this lame duck session, and the Parental Rights Amendment will get new numbers in January.)
In addition, we are planning to take action in the coming weeks to get even more new and returning Congress members signed up before the new session begins. As soon as our website is updated, we will send you info on how to proceed with that effort.
We are also preparing to launch a new online fundraising contest, offering prizes of $50, $100, and even $250 for top achievers. Watch for details next week on how you can start a team or individual page to support the Parental Rights Amendment.
And keep in mind that you can buy prints or giclees of “Rest on the Flight into Egypt” to support and to commemorate our on-going efforts. We’ve given you the basics at parentalrights.org/painting, but look for more information from our president, Michael Farris, coming next week.
Finally, don’t forget to schedule your premiere of “The Child: America’s Battle for the Next Generation,” a Watchman Cinema documentary about the Parental Rights Amendment and the United Nations’ Convention on the Rights while others are planning to preview the film first, then present it in early December. Whichever works best for your situation, please visit parentalrights.org/thechild for more details, and to secure the DVD for your premiere presentation.
Congratulations on our shared success this Election Day, and thank you for pressing onward with us until the liberty of parents to raise their children without undue government interference is secured through the Parental Rights Amendment.
Sincerely,
Michael Ramey
